Dec 31st 1-2-3: Happy New Year!

1: Happy New Year! ( 1 minute read )

After a nice long year of pushing ourselves, it always feels great to rest and reset yourself during the holidays for the oncoming year.

At least that's what I love to do.

As I continue onward to the end of this year, alongside resting, I love to look back and reflect on the year I’ve just had.

Consider the goals you set for yourself this year. Have you made any progress on any of them? If so then pat yourself on the back, and praise yourself for the effort you've made towards these goals.

After taking in my victories for the year I like to analyze the process that led me to achieving my goal, and consider where I could refine that process. Were there any inefficiencies? If so, what were my overall ‘pain points’ during the process that led to ‘inefficiencies’? What do I have to gain from addressing these ‘Pain points’?

Most of the time I come to find plenty of weak areas in my process, and most of the time there are only about 2 or 3 crucial ‘pain points’ that actually necessitate action.

I take my notes, and use them to guide my new set of goals for the following year.

In short, I find this last slice of the year to be a great time for me to rest and recoup, spend time with family, and also reflect on my past year to set my sights on some new goals for the next.

This allows me to get a mental head start on the next year, and to be ready for what’s to come.

Anyway, this is just a short little nugget of a thought as I continue to enjoy these last few days of 2024.

With that, I want to thank you all for sticking with us thus far.

Here’s to continuing on into 2025, and beyond!

2: Creative Prompts From Us (ex. Write a short story, a poem, a song, or draw a quick illustration of these! Let your imagination run free.)

I. Create a list of your achievements this year. Big or Small, Business or Personal, Write it all down. pat yourself on the back for all that progress!

II. Refer to your list from (Prompt 1) and follow that up with another list. This time go one by one through your achievements list, and think about how you made that progress. What you could do better next time? If one of your achievements were particularly difficult, ask yourself what exactly made it so difficult?

Making this list of achievements, as well as the critical analysis of that list, is one way of tangibly being able to look back and reflect upon this last year. Might make it clear what particular weak point you have, that you would benefit from strengthening.

3: Inspirational Quotes From Others

I. “Painting is a medium through which the painter reveals himself. When the painting is done, you keep looking to see what else it might say.”

-Robert Motherwall, American Painter and Graphic Artist

II. “Have no fear of perfection—you’ll never reach it.”

-Salvador Dali, Spanish Artist

III. “I’m always going for something I can’t do, something that I’m not sure I can achieve. That way, I have to reflect and find new avenues.” (Paraphrased)

-Lee Krasner, American Painter and Visual Artist
