Dec 24th 1-2-3: Merry Christmas!

1: Merry Christmas! ( 1 minute read )

After long hard hours of work toiling away on one of my pieces of art, I find it essential to make sure I reserve the holidays for myself.

Spending time with family and turning off my mind for a short break can be utterly revitalizing.

Now that doesn’t mean I don’t do any work.

No,

It just means that I’m more focused on prioritizing the present time I have with family, keeping my work at a reasonable minimum.

I focus on keeping up my chops, warming up my skills every day, and then I go ahead and simply relax.

I relieve my mind from worrying about that next step in my creative journey.

I simply do whatever it is that I’ve been wanting to do all year but ‘couldn’t find the time’ for.

For me thats typically boiled down to playing a game that been on my backlog all year, or hunkering down on that one book I just haven’t made time to read, or maybe catching up on some movies that slipped by me over the years.

All of which, I try to do in the company of those closest and most important in my life.

I find that this yearly routine is a nice break from the typical, and much more rigorous, day to day schedule of my creative process.

It also just happens to set me right up for the next year of work ahead of me.

So give it a try.

Enjoy these last couple weeks of the year, and use them to recharge for next year!

Most of all,

Have a Merry Christmas!
